Vegvisir New Years Cleansing Chest

This box was wood-burned and stained and the incense was handcrafted by The Witch.

The Vegvisir (which means sign post in Icelandic) is a sigil that was used in ancient times in Iceland and allowed the bearer to find their way through rough weather. Throughout the year people face emotional issues, family and health problems. Judgment can become clouded. Use this sigil as a magical compass that will allow you to find your way through ‘rough times’. To start your New Year fresh do the following:

Ignite the charcoal in a small bowl that is filled with dirt or sand and burn your New Years Clearing Incense. Waft the smoke through all the rooms of your house. Carrying the bowl through every room to do so.

When that is complete write out all your previous years problems and issues you had that are unresolved. Place them in the coffin box, letting the Vegvisir guide you through to the answers. Throughout the year when problems arise, add them to the box. Burn the incense when you feel your house needs to be refreshed.
