The world of Ukrainian folk culture: mythology, calendar holidays, customs and rituals of the family cycle, everyday life, folk medicine, national cuisine. The author of this book, the famous historian of Little Russia N. Markevich, back in 1850, planned to compile an extensive collection under the title: THE INNER LIFE OF LITTLE RUSSIA from 1600 TO OUR TIME and worked tirelessly on it, despite the serious disease that struck him in the same 1850, which slowly but stubbornly destroyed his forces and finally brought him to the grave in June of this year; however, a lot of materials were collected by him, and some parts were processed and could appear in the press.

A wonderful book for all those interested in Ukrainian folk magic and witchcraft. Don’t be discouraged that it is written in Ukrainian. I find that in this wonderful age that the google translate app does a great job.
