Cedar // Associated with healing, dreams, disease, protection, and is a symbol of generosity and providence. It drives away negative influences and evil spirits. In Slavic folk magic, it may be used when performing rituals for growth, fertility, promotion of wealth, or during rituals to restore physical and spiritual strength. North American Indigenous peoples have burned cedar during sweat baths to cleanse the body. It has been burned in Northern Europe & North America for centuries to purify sacred spaces and living spaces. Burning it in the home will drive away negative energy, and promote healing, peace, prosperity, and security or may be burned to purify ritual space, cleanse your home and is suited to funerary rites and other rites honouring the beloved dead, such as Samhain festivals as it ensures safe passage for the deceased.

Hand picked, bound and dried by The Witch on her travels to BC, no trees were harmed in the harvesting of this product.

Sweetgrass // Also known as Holy grass, & was strewn before church doors on saints’ days in northern Europe, presumably because of the sweet smell that arose when it was trodden on. In Russia, it was used to flavor tea, & is still used in flavored vodka, the most notable example being Polish Żubrówka. I have also seen it referenced as a sufumigation during Slavic wax pouring ceremonies where “sweet grasses” were used to smoke cleanse the clients during the ritual. It is widely used by Indigenous peoples from many different Nations in North America. It is considered one of the four sacred medicines. Used for purification of the spirit and when burned for healing has a calming effect. A sacred herb often called “hair of mother earth”. its sweet aroma reminds people of the gentleness, love and kindness she has for the people; this is why it is picked and braided into 3 strands representing love, kindness and honesty. Its fragrance is very pleasant, slightly sweet & is also used to attract beneficial energies & favorable circumstances. Growing all over Eurasia & North America, it may be burned to salute the four directions, during funerary rites to release the spirit of the departed, or at any time that one wishes to bring abut purification, harmony, & peace.
